Billur is a registered psychologist with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology and is a member of the Association of Psychologists in Nova Scotia. She has been providing counselling to adults and couples for over 25 years. She has worked with inpatients and outpatients with various mental health issues.
Billur finds it very rewarding to facilitate feelings of self-confidence in each client’s abilities to resolve their mental health issues. Her areas of practice include Post Traumatic Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Occupational injury and stress, Grief counselling, Relationship issues, Psychosis trauma resolution and motor vehicle accident- related trauma. Some of the feedback Billur has received from her clients she has treated for trauma related symptoms has been “I can revisit the traumatic memory but there is no trauma in it anymore”. She is passionate about achieving these kinds of results in her work as a therapist. Billur utilizes evidence based therapeutic approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Schema Therapy and Self Hypnosis. |
