Children & Family Therapy | Trauma | Autism | Domestic Violence | Behavioural Intervention
Valerie has been working with children and families for over six years in a variety of settings including mental health, addictions, domestic violence, and early intervention. She provides therapy to children, teens, and young adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, behavioural concerns, grief/loss, and attachment issues. Valerie understands that when a young person is going through a difficult experience, it can be hard for them to share their story and to cope with everyday life events. Therefore, she strives to create a safe space where young people can express themselves fully and feel empowered to make positive changes in their lives. Valerie also provides therapy to parents and caregivers, aimed at supporting their child’s emotional wellness, strengthening communication skills, and building healthy attachment. She has specialized training in Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, and Mindfulness, providing her with the skills and abilities needed to navigate complex child and family work.
